Salon Terms of Service

1. Introduction and Scope of Services

Welcome to our salon! We offer a variety of professional hair services including haircuts, coloring services, hair extensions, lightening, and highlights. These Terms of Service ("Terms") outline the policies and conditions under which our services are provided. By booking an appointment or receiving services at our salon, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1.1 Service Offerings

Our services include but are not limited to:

  • Haircuts and styling
  • Color services (full color, partial color, highlights, balayage)
  • Chemical treatments (perms, relaxers, keratin treatments)
  • Hair extensions
  • Special occasion styling

1.2 Professional Standards

All our stylists are licensed professionals who maintain current certifications and regularly participate in continuing education to stay current with industry trends and techniques.

2. Appointment Booking and Deposits

2.1 Booking Methods

Appointments can be scheduled through:

  • Our online booking system
  • Phone calls during business hours
  • In-person at the salon
  • Email (subject to confirmation)

2.2 Deposit Requirements

  • A deposit of 50% may be required for services exceeding 2 hours
  • Full payment is required upfront for first-time clients booking color services
  • Special occasion appointments (weddings, events) require a non-refundable 25% deposit
  • Deposits will be applied to the final service cost

2.3 Booking Confirmation

All appointments will receive a confirmation email or text message containing:

  • Appointment date and time
  • Estimated service duration
  • Deposit amount paid (if applicable)
  • Cancellation policy reminder

3. Cancellation and No-Show Policy

3.1 Cancellation Windows

  • 48+ hours notice: No charge, full deposit refund
  • 24-48 hours notice: 50% of service cost charged
  • Less than 24 hours notice: 100% of service cost charged

3.2 No-Show Definition and Consequences

  • Clients arriving 15+ minutes late are considered no-shows
  • No-shows will be charged 100% of the service cost
  • Future appointments may require pre-payment in full
  • Multiple no-shows may result in booking privileges being revoked

3.3 Exceptions

The following circumstances may qualify for waiver of cancellation fees:

  • Medical emergencies (with documentation)
  • Severe weather conditions
  • Family emergencies
  • COVID-19 symptoms or exposure

4. Client Arrival and Conduct

4.1 Arrival Times

  • Arrive 5-10 minutes before appointment time
  • Check-in at reception upon arrival
  • Late arrivals may result in abbreviated service time
  • Services will end at scheduled time to prevent impacting other clients

4.2 Guest Policy

  • One guest maximum per client
  • Children must be supervised at all times
  • Disruptive guests may be asked to leave
  • Service may be terminated if guest behavior interferes with service delivery

4.3 Salon Environment

  • Please silence mobile devices
  • No food or outside beverages
  • No smoking or vaping on premises
  • Maintain appropriate volume levels

5. Service Expectations and Disclaimers

5.1 Consultation Requirements

  • All chemical services require a consultation
  • Patch tests may be required 48 hours before certain services
  • Previous chemical treatment history must be disclosed
  • Photos of desired results should be shared during consultation

5.2 Service Limitations

We reserve the right to:

  • Decline services that could damage hair
  • Modify service plans based on hair condition
  • Require additional sessions for complex color corrections
  • Adjust pricing for extra product usage or time

5.3 Results Disclaimer

Results may vary based on:

  • Hair type and condition
  • Previous chemical treatments
  • Natural hair color and texture
  • Product absorption rates
  • Aftercare compliance

6. Refund and Liability Policy

6.1 Refund Eligibility

Refunds may be considered in cases of:

  • Documented chemical burns or scalp injury
  • Irreparable hair breakage due to service
  • Significant deviation from agreed-upon service
  • Improper technique resulting in damage

6.2 Refund Process

  • Claims must be reported within 7 days
  • Photographic evidence required
  • Independent assessment may be requested
  • Resolution options may include:
    • Corrective services
    • Partial refund
    • Full refund
    • Product compensation

6.3 Non-Refundable Items

  • Retail products (once opened)
  • Service deposits (except as noted in Section 3.3)
  • Completed services meeting industry standards
  • Special order items or extensions

7. Limitation of Liability

7.1 Scope of Liability

The salon's liability is limited to:

  • Direct damages from services rendered
  • Maximum of service cost paid
  • Documented medical expenses if applicable

7.2 Excluded Damages

We are not liable for:

  • Emotional distress
  • Lost wages
  • Subsequent salon visits elsewhere
  • Side effects from disclosed allergies
  • Self-attempted corrections

8.2 Salon Responsibilities

  • Regular sanitization of tools and stations
  • Fresh cape and towels for each client
